Salon 2005

Salon 2005 /// Alexanderplatz, Berlin, Germany

The task is to build an extension to the front of the Kaufhof at Alexanderplatz, Berlin, that combines the ideas of a store and a museum for the city’s young underground designers. Complying with hese requirements we incorporate the characteristic facade elements, which are currently removed due to restoration. The idea is to create a flexible structure, altering its density, softness and gold gradient (its function and interestingness) according to the demands of the shoppers and visitors, depending on the time of day.
